THE TREK CLUB - SEAFORD

Whenever I need a serious release from the weeks trudgery, I quite often head out to a public house which I know to be popular.  After this, if I feel the need for a boogie I might visit one of the nightclubs in the area. Seaford has quite a few decent bars, one of which is the V Bar, formerly the Hole in the Wall.

We are fortunate in Sussex to have not only some of the best countryside to visit during the daytime, but some passable club venue and theatres. I lived in Seaford for many years in Beacon Road, in one of the oldest houses in the road. At that time the Trek Club was the only nightclub. Unbelievably, it still is!

Quality evening entertainment?

Situated in Seaford, East Sussex, the Trek Nightclub has a capacity of 600, is open Friday and Saturday evenings from 10.45pm to 2.00am and has recently under gone a £250,000 refurbishment. The Club is split in to three main sections consisting of a large main bar at the dance floor and stage area near the entrance, a chill out area in the middle section and a further quiet bar at the rear. The Club has been designed to cater for all ages and moods.

The Music

The Trek Club has a policy of playing fun music. The Club has two resident D.J.'s who integrate the best in party music including music from the charts, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. The Trek Club has been nominated Best Nightclub in the South of England by the Bar, Entertainment and Dance Association (BEDA). I could not agree with this, but the security at closing time was impressive. Presumably, because there are many incidents. I like to see responsible management and this aspect of the club was good.

This evening is aimed towards busy people who wish to socialise in a relaxing and informal atmosphere, meet new friends and possibly network at the same time. The evening starts at 9.00pm to give you the opportunity to get home from work and will finish at 12 midnight so as not to encroach on the following day's work.

Independent Comment

A website posting a blog, has this to say about the Trek Club:-

  • The Trek - never been, but it IS infamous!

  • The Trek 2 or T-rek as its known. The only club in town and a bit pats realy but fun. Brightons less than 30 mins away though and that is no.2 in the UK for clubs

  • The Trek is the only place to go, there is nowhere else to go, be wary of hugely overated prices and the dodgy bar staff!

  • still only have one nite club everyone gets there at the weekends so see you all at the trek2.

  • The Trek? Well it was the first club in the country with 'ZONES'. More like a meat market with no musical taste!

  • Le Trek 2 - more for the people you can bump into than the music!

  • The trek. It's appaling but there's nowhere else to go! Most people will head over to Brighton for a night out.

  • The Trek- It's shit

  • You're a mere 30 minute bus ride from Brighton's Big Beat Boutique.

  • Very few, well... er... none actually.
Seaford does in fact have one club - "the trek" - however it is shite so go to Brighton instead.
