Sussex
is a glorious county, the so-called garden of England
and for very good reason. I've lived in Sussex
most of my life, including: Brighton,
Eastbourne,
Seaford,
Newhaven, Hadlow Down, and of course Herstmonceux.
There
is so much of interest to see and do in the United
Kingdom, and I hope to
expand the local geography section as time allows, to cover the most
interesting aspects of this wonderful country.

Mountainboarding started here about 10 years ago and
came over from the states. Looking like large
skateboards but using pneumatic tyres, riders come down
specially designed tracks and forest paths of different
lengths and skill levels, much like a ski piste. We have
been open for 6 years and have seen the sport grow
considerably since we first opened. It's a fantastic way
to get out in the downs and enjoy the fantastic
surroundings of our beautiful countryside. More

The NSSC sailing school is a Royal Yachting Association
recognised teaching establishment. The School operates
mainly from Piddinghoe Pond for dinghy sailing and
windsurfing and from Newhaven Marina for power boating
and keelboats. The school uses Sport 14s for its dinghy
training and these stable roomy boats have proved to
very popular with newcomers to sailing. Power boat
training takes place in two club RIBs and a 24ft
displacement boat which are also used as safety boats
for Club racing. Keelboat training takes place in
various members' boats. As an RYA recognised teaching
establishment we issue certificates on behalf of the RYA.
We issue up to Level 4 dinghy and keelboat sailing, all
levels of power boating and regular Instructors courses
for all disciplines. In addition the Club runs
windsurfing courses (again under the RYA scheme).
