When you start thinking about it, it's difficult to name your favorite pub or restaurant.  Although the choice is largely geographical, I've enjoyed some great pubs, clubs and restaurants in the smoke, some of which I cannot even recall the name of - so I must have had a good time.

Locally, I frequent two country pubs and a couple in Eastbourne less often.  Of course I'm getting on a bit now and tastes and circumstances change. Strangely also, I'm not a beer drinker, which is good for my mates (lift wise), but not so profitable for the landlords. Being single, I'm about as flexible as they come when it comes to trying new venues, but, the haunts below are still my personal choice.

Nelson Kruschandl - my favorite local pubs

One pub that is always a good evening out is the 6 Bells at Chiddingly.  Another is the Ram Inn at Firle. In my teens my first transport was a Yamaha motorcycle.  It was (and still is) fashionable to drop into the Bells after a hard week at work on your bike and chat with other bikers.  Almost every Sunday afternoon, you will find a selection of interesting bikes parked outside, with an equally interesting bunch of guys and gals ready to talk about their steeds.  Who wouldn't................. SIX BELLS ..............

If you like a good traditional Sussex pub and really interesting food, the RAM INN takes some beating ...........................

A restaurant famous for Banoffi Pie, is the HUNGRY MONK.  Sadly, the future of this interesting flint built concern was/is in the balance. I've had many memorable dinners and a splendid Christmas blow out here .......................

If you like good traditional English cuisine why not give THE LAMB at Old Town, Eastbourne a try.  This pub dates from 1180 .....................

More to come .................................
