HISTORY

The idea for the Speed Record Club came as a result of a meeting between Robin Richardson (founder) and Bluebird CN7 and K7 designer Ken Norris.

The aims of the Club are to put enthusiasts in touch with each other and to provide a method of sharing common interests.

Whatever type of speed record breaking appeals to you, and at whatever level you are interested, the Speed Record Club is the only club that is not associated with any one project or organisation and is intended to provide a forum for all with a common interest.

The club holds informal meetings incorporating exhibitions, tours, team presentations, film and slide shows and sales of collectables at places of interest.

A number of club members have active projects and the club also provides a source of volunteers for members projects, trials and record attempts.

AIMS of the SPEED RECORD CLUB

1. The Speed Record Club seeks to promote an informed and educated enthusiast identity, reporting accurately and impartially to the best of its ability on record-breaking engineering, events, attempts and history. The club earns its revenue from subscriptions, sale of merchandise and trading related to subscriptions and the production of its magazine.

2. The Speed Record Club will not promote or discriminate against any record-breaker unfairly, nor will it become involved financially or promotionally with any project, or seek to sanction or approve any record attempts.
