It
is difficult to appreciate the sheer scale of the
project, until you see these before and after
photographs. As with many such sites of historic
interest, when the use had gone, so too has the
incentive to the owners to maintain the property.
Over the years the pond suffered from neglect and
finally collapsed, the pond could therefore not retain
water such as to supply a mill wheel. The size of
a Mill's water supply dictates the amount of useful work
it can do. It was of paramount importance to
repair the dam before other works could take place.
