Sussex
based Charles Warren,
has been implementing his plan to restore Heathfield's historic
water mill , the aim being to bring it back to its former glory
and secure a part of local history.

Charles
Warren - Sportsman
In
1995 permission was granted to rebuild the Mill to
include use for loom and tea rooms. In 2002, a
further application provided permission for a granary
with additional uses. In 2004, permission was
granted for essential service facilities
The
members of Wealden District Council, historical groups
and the Parish Council have been supportive of the
proposals generally and visited the site before making
their decision to back the restoration.
In
between applying for planning permission, the site has
undergone extensive
ground works, which turned into a mammoth civil
engineering project, to restore a lake, build a dam,
secure bridges and roads, etc. Several hundred
thousand pounds later and the project is making some
headway. Charles Warren (pictured above) is not
afraid to get his hands dirty if it benefits the
project.
Mr
Warren plans to host business, educational events and
weddings using a Granary and other on site facilities.
The location is ideal for conferences, where executives
can relax and enjoy the peaceful Sussex countryside and
focus on business issues in surroundings conducive to
productive thought.
